David Stephens is a graduate of Langston University’s School of Business and has over 40 years of professional experience including Accounting, Technology Support Management, Business Development Consulting and Agriculture/Rural Community Outreach. His previous work experience includes assignments with Conoco Oil Company, Ponca City, OK., Amoco Corporation, Tulsa, OK, Children’s Hospital, Dallas, TX, George S. May Consulting Chicago, Ill., InterGlobal Services, Inc. of Plano, TX

 

In 2023, David Stephens joined UADA’s Southern Risk Management Project focused on improving the understanding and application of Risk Management Practices in the small farm community of the southeastern section of this country. Functioning as one of five Navigator Project Specialist, David has participated in and presented at numerous Conferences, Meetings, Workshops, Ag Field Days, as well as one-on-one consultations with Agriculture producers throughout the country. Mr. Stephens was a member of the inaugural class of the “Understanding Heirs Property at the Community Level,” Train the Trainer Program and frequently incorporates the importance of “estate planning” in his “Risk Management” presentations.

 

Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Stephens spent several years working with an Oklahoma Agriculture focused community-based organization where he served as the Director of Outreach. He is committed to supporting small agricultural producers, rural communities and rural businesses by providing information, instruction, and consultation to improve their access to Government and private industry programs, new practices, and technologies essential for their success and sustainability.

 

David Stephens is a past National President of the Langston University National Alumni Association and is currently the Chairman of the Langston University Development Foundation Board of Directors.
